About Erik Adel
I’m Erik Adel, an Information Science and Political Science student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a strong interest in IT operations, systems administration, and infrastructure.
I currently work at UW–Madison's Division of Information Technology as a Student Team Lead (STL), where I collaborate with eight other STLs to manage Help Desk operations, facilitate hiring and onboarding, and support a team of over 70 student employees.
Outside of work and classes, I maintain a personal homelab to gain hands-on experience with self-hosted services, Linux systems, networking, storage, and monitoring. This environment allows me to explore real-world infrastructure concepts beyond the classroom.
I'm pursuing my degree at UW–Madison with a focus on how technology supports organizations and large-scale operations, particularly in public-sector and institutional environments.
